HSBC Online Savings Account
This is our clear winner. With a $0 maintenance fee, $1 minimum, and 2.2% APY, the HSBC Online Savings Account is probably the best account for most users. It offers industry leading interest, with the dependability and customer service of one of the world's largest banks. The only downside is that it doesn't offer a 1% deposit bonus like Marcus, but for most users who aren't depositing $1,000+ this bonus doesn't beat out the additional interest.
Marcus by Goldman Sachs
Marcus by Goldman Sachs is a 2% APY, $0 minimum, 1% deposit bonus up to $500 savings account that is a new product by the Goldman Sachs commercial banking division. The account is managed all online and is a great option for people who are looking for a safe place to park their emergency fund.
Citizens Access Online Savings Account
2% APY just like Marcus, but this account has a $5000 minimum balance and no deposit bonus. In most scenarios we can't see why you would want this account unless you don't want to park your money with a big bank.
CIBC Agility Account
CIBC Agility gets one of the highest interest rates out there at 2.2% APY with a minimum deposit of $1000. For those who aren't depositing large amounts to get the 1% one time deposit bonus at Marcus, this might be the right account for you. Higher interest and year over year that interest rate can make a difference!
CIT Bank Savings Builder
CIT Bank Savings Builder is the same as the CIBC Agility Account except that it only has a $100 deposit minimum. However, to maintain the interest rate you need to depsite $100 a month, or maintain a $25,000 deposit to get the rate.
