Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous. Stay safe on the roads, but also have the best insurance available when riding. See which companies don’t count claims smaller than $500 against you, give you a new bike if you had less than 2,500 miles, or even cover your protective equipment!

Progressive

Progressive’s standard motorcycle coverage pays for repairs to your damaged motorcycle with new parts and no deduction for depreciation. Claims of $500 or less do not count against your record, and rates stay the same. A first accident does not count against you if you have been accident-free for four consecutive years.

These small benefits can be really helpful. For example, if you fall while making a defensive maneuver and skid one side of your bike. Getting that side fixed is usually ~$300-$400 so it will not count against you. Additionally, top of all of those benefits, Progressive also has a disappearing deductibles feature. What a disappearing deductible means is that for every claim free coverage period on your policy, Progressive will deduct 25% from your deductible all the way until 0%!

State Farm

State Farm offers coverage for a variety of motorcycles, including high cost classic and custom motorcycles, factory-built motorcycles, trail bikes, etc. Additionally, they offer emergency roadside assistance, protective gear coverage and coverage to pay for expenses when a trip is interrupted due to motorcycle damage or an accident.

Furthermore they offer new motorcycle replacement coverage, and reimburse you for a new bike. They also fully pay out when your motorcycle is stolen or destroyed within the first year.

Liberty Mutual has great coverage for new bikes, but they also offer great benefits for new riders in general. Liberty Mutual will not only cover the bike, but also offer discounts for safety courses as well as offer discounts on the policy for completed safety courses in the past 3 years.
